    • Oetiker Redefines Cleanliness in Biopharma with the Launch of PureLine®


    For nearly 90 years, Oetiker has been a trusted name in industrial and automotive clamping solutions. While our legacy is rooted in these sectors, we took our first steps into the biopharma industry 15+ years ago. Since then, we have built a strong expertise and served the industry with reliable solutions tailored to its demanding standards. Now, with deep knowledge and experience, we are proud to introduce a truly groundbreaking innovation — the PureLine® series.

    The development of PureLine® began through a collaboration with a leading biopharma manufacturer facing a critical challenge: how to ensure both reliability and cleanliness in their clamping solutions. Traditional cable ties did not provide sufficient reliability as they are not designed for perfect sealing, and the risk of leakage is high, particularly when pressure reaches certain levels. Additionally, their use posed a contamination risk since cutting the band can create plastic debris, which is generally considered a contamination source in cleanroom environments. On the other hand, traditional metal clamps often relied on grease for proper clamping function, posing hygiene risks.

    Attempts to remove grease with alcohol led to increased friction and clamp buckling, risking contamination and compromising the integrity of the connection. The industry lacked a ready-to-use connecting system, leaving manufacturers to clean clamps themselves, a process that was never 100% reliable and always carried a risk.


    • Introducing a New Standard of Cleanliness



      This is the innovation the industry has been waiting for. The PureLine® series is the first precision-cleaned, double-bagged, and vacuum-sealed clamp on the market. Clamps are produced at an Oetiker facility, undergo a precision cleaning process developed by our experts, and are then double-bagged and vacuum-sealed to maintain their sterile condition until use. The PureLine® product portfolio is ideal for medical cleanrooms and other environments where maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness is critical. Our sustainable process is carried out in a controlled cleanroom setting, ensuring reliable control over particulates.

      “This is the first product of its kind in terms of cleanliness and reliability,” says Maxime Dicicco, Key Account Manager for Biopharma Segment EMEA. “No competitor currently offers this level of readiness. Most still rely on in-house cleaning, which doesn’t guarantee a reliable connection.”

Oetiker also offers PureLine® pneumatic and electropneumatic assembly tools, designed without paint to prevent contamination in clean rooms. These tools are treated with a medical-grade lubricant certified by USP 88 Class VI and ISO 10993-5, ensuring full compliance with medical standards.

      Another standout feature is traceability. With the launch of PureLine®, Oetiker has introduced a new labeling system that clearly displays the production date on packaging.
